Prizes will be awarded to the top fundraisers!
The top 20 fundraisers and the first 150 fundraisers to reach $100 will be eligible to win special prizes from Greater DC Cares. Check
back for more information on prizes for top fundraisers. Servathon works just like any other walkathon or rideathon. We ask each volunteer
to raise $100 or more. Funds raised help us provide more than 80,000 hours of volunteer service throughout the year. It’s not mandatory
but we sure would appreciate your help!
If each volunteer raises $100, we can:
- Implement 1,000 volunteer projects throughout the region;
- Help provide 36,000 meals to people who are homeless or living with HIV/AIDS and other illnesses;
- Provide free tools to more than 200 local nonprofits through our tool “lending library” so they can upgrade their facilities;
- Connect skilled volunteers — professionals in areas like technology, fundraising and marketing — to more than 115 nonprofits to help build their capacity;
- Paint 3,000 classrooms in local public schools;
- And so much more!
Greater DC Cares makes it easy! Once you register, you will have your own headquarters with automated tools that allow you to create your
personal on-line Servathon page with customized photos and a personal message. You will be able to send emails inviting friends, family,
and colleagues to sponsor you. We provide sample emails that you can use or edit, or you can write your own.
